Peace Soap Workshop
by Our Lady Of Peace Centre
“Disability is a matter of perception. If you can do just one thing well,
you’re needed by someone.”
The open-top bus trip in the city of Aqaba
to return to work with full activity, vitality and harmony.
In our heart city of Aqaba, the Peace Soap Workshop contributes to a community that is open to children with disabilities that can develop and use all their talents together.
Our workshop is home for children with disabilities where we empower them through personal, social and educational strengths.
Children with special needs may have developmental delays, medical conditions, psychiatrics conditions and/or congenital conditions. These require accommodation and special care so children can reach their full potential. It can help them to set appropriate goals and gain an understanding of their behavior.
At Peace Soap Workshop we address the child's impairment, improve their functioning and make them self aware.

We at Peace Soap Workshop strive to serve people with disabilities
They each have their own potential
They each have their own ability
They need us to get it out
They are ready to show what they are capable of to become productive and effective people
The center decided that there should be an ongoing and productive project that would benefit children with disabilities in financial terms.
The training for people with disabilities started at Our Lady of Peace Center with the support of Hilton Hotel Aqaba in early 2015. Together with coaches from Diversey company we succeeded in recycling soap and created around 100 bars of pure soap. The products were displayed with the price of 1 JOD each and the sales were distributed evenly to children.
Due to the high demand of the products and knowing that we had no place and equipment into producing a large quantity of soap, the management from Our Lady of Peace Center established an independent soap workshop (Peace Soap Workshop), employing 14 persons with disabilities, aged 18 and over.
With the full support from Aqaba Region Authority and Aqaba Development Company, the final plan was approved to support the construction of a separate building all with the help of Eng. Ghassan Ghanem, for soap making workshop, in the center's courtyard.
